What is Spot Welding?
Spot welding refers to a welding method in which a cylindrical electrode is used to form a welding spot between the surfaces of two overlapping workpieces during welding. During spot welding, pressure is applied to make the workpiece in close contact, and then turn on the current. Under the action of resistance heat, the contact of the workpiece is melted, and a solder joint is formed after cooling. Spot welding is mainly used for the welding of sheet metal stampings with a thickness of less than 4mm, especially for the welding of automobile bodies, carriages, and aircraft fuselage. However, containers with sealing requirements cannot be sopt welded.
